Our Missions
The Healdsburg Community Church is blessed to share in twenty-five ministries that are reaching out to our community, our country, and our world to bring Christ’s love to the nations. It is our desire to maintain close communication with our various missionaries and to prayerfully support them in their callings to spread the good news of Christ’s love. We believe that if we share our prayers, our hospitality, and our financial resources we too are sharing in their missionary outreach. Some of our missionaries were able to visit with us over the past couple of years and bring personal updates to the congregation.
Hector Soto and Daniel Montoya have been able to share with our church their ministry in Tuis, Costa Rica with Voz Que Clama. This ministry is with the disabled indigenous population in the highlands. They blessed us with their music and message of encouragement as to God’s faithfulness. We were excited that members from our own church, led by Roxanne Lemereis, have been able to go and serve the mission.
Jim and Suzanne Witty from Care Corps International came to fellowship with us and give us a report on the Uganda work with Action International, which is serving to heal the emotional and physical devastation of the Ugandan children captured for soldier/slavery reasons.
Al and Jeanie Stirling are currently in Budapest, Hungary working with MinistryEssentials Int., an organization focused solely on caring for missionaries. What a joy it was to hear how the Lord has used them to help encourage, support, and counsel missionaries from around the world.
Yale Kushner with Campus Crusade for Christ was graciously hosted by the Welty’s for an evening of sharing. Yale and his wife have an outreach ministry to support and encourage the children of missionaries with Campus Crusade.
Russell Johnston is one of our Youth Interns at HCC and many of us know and love his heart to be in full time service for the Lord among University Students. We are supporting the Inter-Varsity ministry of Russell and other local staff members (Kurt and Laura Thiel) on the Sonoma State University Campus and the Santa Rosa Junior College Campus.
William Hernandez, with Lamplight Healing Ministries shared the unique and important ministry the Lord has opened up for him. This ministry is bringing Christians into the Mosques in the Seattle area endeavoring to interfaith dialogue with the Muslims about Christ’s point of view on various issues like forgiveness, judgment, humility, and God’s Word. It is hoped that bringing Christ into the Mosques will bring them His light and love.
Operation Christmas Child with Samaritan’s Purse is a wonderful opportunity for all of our church members to reach out to the hurting children in the world by providing a Christmas box full of toys, gifts, and necessities.
We continue to support local missions as well, the Healdsburg Shared Ministries Food Pantry, Redwood Gospel Mission, the Manna House and the Pregnancy Counseling Center. Our long term support of the Shared Ministries meal at St. Paul’s is carried out by small groups, each serving for a year.
Daphne and David Fisher, friends from First Presbyterian in Santa Rosa, are missionaries with Christian Associates International. They have been called to be part of a ministry team that is church planting in Madrid Spain. We are blessed to be part of their new team of support.
We of the Missions committee consider it a blessing and a privilege to serve on this committee. We are able to read the correspondence, host the missionaries, help set budget and policy and be on the front line of prayer for the ministries HCC supports. If you feel God’s heart to serve with us please contact one of us.
Committee includes Donatella Veneziani, Keiko Lillis, Yvonne Rose, Joyce Rich, and Nancy Napolitan
