Women’s Ministries

Our Women’s Ministries was started in January, 2011. The Women’s Ministries Committee consists of:  Joanne Foote-Lynch, Betsy Gustke, Elizabeth Mallinson, Kelly Meier, Cally Puckett, Elaine Sbrana and Pastor Roxanne Lemereis.

This exciting and energetic group of women have met at least once a month since January, 2011 to think through and pray about God’s calling for the Women of HCC. He directed us to call ourselves The Ruth Ministry, and to base our ministry around the following statements and scriptures:

Mission Statement for Healdsburg Community Church Women’s Ministry

We are a women’s fellowship devoted to Christ, intent on supporting women in their personal relationship with God, so that through spiritual fellowship, mentoring, modeling, and teaching one another, we might experience the freedom to become all that God intends us to be.  (Colossians 2: 6-7)

The RUTH Ministry:

R:  Reveal our unique gifts as women (Mathew 5:16)

U:  Uplift each other in love and loyalty (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

T:  Teach and learn from God and one another (Colossians 1:28)

H:  Help by serving within our church, homes, families, and community (Philippians 2: 1-5)

Ministry to Children

We will follow the example of Jesus in welcoming children into the life of our church:

Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them. Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.” (Matthew 19:13-15)

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a distinctively Christian form of lay care provided by congregation members trained to provide one-to-one support for persons in a variety of stress-producing circumstances. Becoming a Stephen Minister involves a two-year commitment that includes 50 hours of initial training plus continuing education and supervision while serving. Training of Stephen Ministers and oversight of the program is provided by a Stephen Leadership Team.

Missions

The Healdsburg Community Church is blessed to share in twenty-five ministries that are reaching out to our community, our country, and our world to bring Christ’s love to the nations. It is our desire to maintain close communication with our various missionaries and to prayerfully support them in their callings to spread the good news of Christ’s love. We believe that if we share our prayers, our hospitality, and our financial resources, that we, too, are sharing in their missionary outreach. Our missionaries visit with us as they are able to, and bring personal updates on their very important work to the congregation.
